Just short of her first birthday, the unthinkable happened. Little Alylah suffered a severe head injury from a stray bullet. She was rushed to the hospital where after resuscitation, Dr Khan performed emergency lifesaving brain surgery. Then, followed hospitalization that included additional surgeries. Alylah responded well to the treatment and the day arrived when she could go home. However, she had to wear a helmet to protect her brain. Finally, she returned for one more surgery by Dr Khan, to treat the skull defect that had been created to relieve the pressure off her brain. All went well. Alylah no longer needs to wear her helmet and can expect to do what other beautiful little kids do.
